i have several junked out cars on property if you call a salvage company to haul it off they might give you 40 dollars
if i strip it myself what parts as for as scrape metal brings the most money

I have to do a few repairs on my 2001 Dodge 1500 4×4, like hub bearings and axel bearings. When checking part prices I found that prices for 00-01 are about $70 HIGHER for hub bearings than 98-98. A guy I know that runs an auto salvage yard tells me they are the same part. He says I should buy the 98-99 part because the parts dealers are just trying to make more money off parts for newer model vehicles. Now, normally I would think a salvage yard was trying to dupe me if they told me something like that but he didn't try to get me to buy a part from him, just told me to go ahead and buy the older model parts. Does anyone know if this information is accurate?

Hello, I asked this question in another topic, also. I have an Isuzu trooper, 01. My driver's side, cargo door window got shattered, while I was mowing. To this, I can say that my wife was not very happy. LOL. Anyhow, I bought another window to replace the broken one. This brings my to my question. I live in Texas, and I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the molding that goes around the cargo door window. I called several glass companies and they can locate and install the window for about $125 dollars. However, without installing the window, they can not locate the molding. None of the part stores carry the molding. I could understand the money if they were replacing the glass also, but I have already bought the glass, sealant, and prepared the surface. All I need is the molding to go around the glass and basically just put it in. Does anyone know where I could find the molding, or someone who could possibly have it. I have searched Yahoo, and called auto salvage yards, but I have not found anything. I appreciate all suggests. Thanks

How can I insure myself from buying an auto part online?
I bought an engine wiring harness for a 1995 Silverado Z71 with a 5.7L engine from a salvage that had sent me a response to my part request. Turns out, they sent me one from a Suburban and the Suburban doesn't have the brake lamp relay that is there on a Silverado so I don't have any brake lights. I already checked with the dealership and looked at 1500 style pickups to make sure it's supposed to have the brake lamp relay and it is definitely supposed to have one. I cannot find a local salvage that has what I need and I need the part bad because it is keeping me from working as I don't have a way back and forth because of not having brake lights. Therefore, I'm left with having to order one from another parts request response online. How can I make sure that if they send me the wrong one (again) that I can get my money back?

I had a car which was totaled by the insurance company, and they asked me if i wanted it and keep a salvage title or take the money. I said i will take the money at that time. there was someone that worked at the shope that wanted the car. Anywho 4-5 years later hes contacting me for the titel. The insurance never put the salvage title on it. My Can i go and pick up my car with a police officer?
there is no salvage title at all thats why im confuse. My title is valid, he says he cant put it on the road until i give him the title
